What is Oscension?
Oscension is a diagnostic system for founder-led companies whose growth has stalled — and whose teams are misreading the constraint.
Most $5M–$50M ARR companies hit a ceiling that looks like a marketing problem, a channel problem, or a hiring problem. It almost never is. The real constraint is structural: a decision bottleneck, a misaligned org, a function absorbing work that doesn’t belong to it. Until that constraint is correctly named, every fix is a guess and every dollar of spend amplifies the underlying disorder.
Oscension surfaces it.
The framework maps how a business actually functions across seven interconnected layers:
- Finance & Operations
- Creativity & Collaboration
- Leadership & Decision-Making
- Compassion & Culture
- Communication & Messaging
- Strategic Vision & Intuition
- Purpose & Impact
Each layer influences the next. Constraints concentrate in one layer and propagate across the system. Decisions shape execution. Execution shapes communication. Communication reframes strategy. The pattern is consistent across companies, sectors, and stages — and once it’s visible, it can be sequenced.
The result is a written diagnostic, a 90-day plan, and a decision-rights framework the team can run with or without me in the room.
Who Oscension is for
Founder-led subscription, mobile app, and digital content companies. Series A to pre-B. $5M–$50M ARR. 20–150 employees. Product-market fit established. Growth has stalled, plateaued, or fractured — and the founder is not yet sure why.
You’re probably the right fit if one of these is true:
- You’ve missed forecast two quarters in a row and don’t have a credible answer for the board.
- A senior leader (CMO or COO) just left, and you’re not sure whether to rehire the seat or restructure around what they were actually doing.
- You closed a round and the organization feels less coherent now than it did before the capital arrived.
- Every important decision still runs through you, and the business can’t survive a week of your absence.

I spent twenty years as a marketing operator inside scaling subscription and mobile companies — CMO at Digital Distribution Group, Interim CMO at Delivery Hero Germany, marketing leadership roles at Fox Mobile, Zalando, Freenet Digital, Shutterstock, and Amen App. Across those companies, I watched the same pattern over and over: upstream organizational constraints getting misdiagnosed as marketing problems. The marketing team takes the fall. The real issue keeps producing the same symptoms with the next hire.
Oscension is the system I built to surface that pattern reliably. Selected results from the seat:
- Digital Distribution Group — As CMO, grew revenue from $65M to $126M, expanded EBITDA margin from 18% to 31%, scaled from 6 to 18 markets in 12 months.
- Delivery Hero Germany / Lieferheld — As Interim CMO, led the brand repositioning that contributed strategic foundation to the company’s $1.1B acquisition by Takeaway.com.
- Amen App — Took the app from concept to launch in three months, scaled to 50,000 users at a 4.9-star rating in the first year.
- Zalando — Managed $285M in marketing spend across 21 countries contributing to $4B in revenue.
- Fox Mobile (Newscorp) — Scaled US monthly revenue from $100K to $1M+ in six months at 50% margin; methodology replicated globally after PE acquisition.

Let’s find the constraint.
The first step is usually a 30-minute conversation. No deck, no pitch — a working session to determine whether Oscension is the right system for your situation. If it isn’t, I’ll tell you, and I’ll point you toward someone who is the right fit.
